El Aye, I can't believe I forgot about that song! I love it! Uh, oh, here we go...LOL! "Love will show the way (There ain't nothin' stronger than love, there ain't nothin' stronger than love, No love!) Now you can live on my friend but you'll never, never find (No love!) The word I'm talking 'bout can give you peace of mind, (Love is!) The answer to the burden that you have in your heart I know it can give a lonely person a brand new start, Love is a blessing, ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah..." My apologies for joining in...Ms. Natalie Cole has so many great songs! Thanks for thinking of that one El Aye!
"...But remember when you hang your head it's hard to see the sun, there's a brighter day, yes it is, Just ask and He sure will come..."

That is the bomb song, but what about "Hey, did you happen to see my sweet baby, he was walking on down the road. Tell him for me that, if you see him tonight, everything is alright. 'cause I know how he gets when he's low. OH, he's a beautiful man, kinda hard to understand but he's the only good man that I know. Won't 'cha tell him for me. I'm keepin' a light shinin' in the window just in case he decides to come home...
... and you kept my heart, body, soul and mind together. YOU...

Ms. Natalie Cole's Starting Over Again by M. Maser & G. Goffin.
"And when I hold you in my arms I promise you, You're gonna feel a love that's beautiful and new, This time I'll love you even better than I ever did before, And you'll be in my heart forevermore, We were just to young to know we fell in love and let it go, So easy to say the words goodbye, So hard to let the feelings die, I know how much I need you now, the time is turning back somehow, As soon as our hearts and souls unite, I know for sure we'll get the feeling right..."

Alright y'all, I know I've posted my share of songs but what about... I never know what you're thinking. I never could read your mind. I'll never know when I'll see you again. You might stop by at anytime. You tell me we're going out on the town and you want me ready when you call. Sometimes you come later than you said you would (bless your heart). Sometimes you don't come at all... Unpredictable you...
... and you kept my heart, body, soul and mind together. YOU...

"Never had her a Mama, no, no
Annie Mae (hoo, hoo, hoo)
Rarely heard a kind spoken word
Annie Mae (hoo, hoo, hoo)
Looking at life through an empty shell
And all the time she's catching hell
She was growing
(Growing up much too fast) up much too fast
Does anybody know where is Annie Mae today
Where oh where is Annie Mae
All you got to do is look into the faces of
All the young girls, On the avenue--(young girls!)"
I LOVE THIS SONG!
Howard Payne Volleyball #10!

"...This connection's not so clear, but if you said I love you, Then you know that I feel the same way, Hope the kids are doing fine, Do they still get to school on time? Oh by the way, I really miss your face round about supper time, Conversation's getting thin, And my patience is too, Gotta go, I'll call you when my show is through.." I actually think that for me Natalie's life is a song of inspiration for me. I will celebrate 10 years clean and sober from prescription painkillers like Oxycontin and Demerol (I call them prescription Heroin) in July. That's a lot of "one days at a time" and I was watching Natalie's story on a Lifetime Movie Network movie today and it renewed my determination to stay the course. I have had some health problems lately that are unrelated to my prior drug use but leave it to a prior addict to climb onto the pity pot. I was thinking "I got sober for this?" Blah Blah Blah. She reminds me that the worst day sober is always better than the best day high or coming off thgat high chasing the next one.
The truth is that yes, I did get clean and sober for this and so much more and today I have it all
Life is in session and I am present and accountable for all of it!
Natalie has reminded me of what I have and what I stand to lose if I abandon my God and my sober living, one day at a time.
Sorrry to be off topic, I wanted to thank Natalie for being part of keeping me sober today but since I have no way of contacting her I wanted to post something somewhere expressing my gratitude.
Just a grateful, sober recovering addict,
Deborah.

Natalie's Lifetime movie WAS and IS an inspiration to me,also. She overcame the odds and gave the credit to God! I have found I can not do without God's promise. Anyway, I cried during the movie and think it takes great courage to show your dirty laundry! So others have hope!
Thank you Natalie!

I hear ya, Barbiebb; I can't do without the Lord either! We need Him! It does take great courage to show your dirty laundry, and she held nothing back in her autobiography. We love Natalie Cole for being real, making us laugh, cry, and giving us lessons on making better choices at the same time.

"...I have seen the bluest skies, rainbows that would make you cry, I have seen miracles that moved my soul, days that changed my life, I have seen the brightest stars shine like diamonds in the dark, I've seen the wonders of the world but I've never seen a smile as beautiful as yours..." Now that's a great song!
