04-27-2008, 1:59 AM PHOENIX FAN Joined on 02-11-2008 85042 Posts 44 SOPHISTICATED LADY REMIX I remember a few years ago at a Natalie concert at PARIS HOTEL in Las vegas, she did an updated version of SOPHISTICATED LADY ( dance remix style )with a young rapper on stage doin his thing with Natalie. I thought that it might be a great new single at the time. Needless to say, the audience was there to hear UNFORGETTABLE and was a little shocked at the whole thing. Does anyone else recall that same situation?    Report

Joined on 11-16-2006 91786 Posts 444 Re: SOPHISTICATED LADY REMIX I've said on here a few times before (well, on the last two old boards for sure), that I wished that Missy Elliott (or another good set female producer/artists) would do with Sophisticated Lady what she had done with Lady's Night or Lady Marmalade.  I think it would make for a great soundtrack theme song for somebody's movie, fa'sho! Maybe Nat should consider performing R&B at these R&B festivals that appeal to the younger audience like the www.VegasSoulFest.com held annually in May, or even on the R&B day at the City of Lights Jazz 'n R&B festival held this wknd in Vegas (see www.yourjazz.com).  Do it for the love of the music that she had once loved and performed!  And, of course, there's the Essense Festival! I just didn't like the plane ride to Vegas. I went last June and saw the legendary band Chicago while we were there at the Mandalay Bay Hotel/Casino. That was a great concert because we were able to stand in an ankle deep pool in front of the stage. I still wish Peter Cetera was there though to sing "Just You And Me" but it was a great concert. It was amazing to see Robert Lamm sing "Saturday In The Park" and to see their horn section jam! Anyhow, I hope your idea of the great song "Sophisticated Lady" becomes a reality. "...But remember when you hang your head it's hard to see the sun, there's a brighter day, yes it is, Just ask and He sure will come..."    Report

Its very funky. Starbooty himself is so busy with the makeup and flicks that his music has been pushed aside for awhile. He did do the song justice though. Big ups to him and the wigs, B    Report

It keeps the wrinkles away. Trust, no wrinkles or crows feet here... Some get me here, some try to silence me, some are just haters... All I can say is "Suffer"... lol Just kidding... I live in Florida. I do not like the cold weather so I am not in the NYC anymore. I live near Tampa but Miami is my element. The boys are just delicious in all flavors.(not that I am looking) Just the vibe and the music element.. I have been out of the club scene for years now but I do keep in touch with the music and my dj friends. I try to do the big music events in Miami like the Winter Music Conference every March and Nov and of course Gay Disney in Orlando, FL every first weekend in June. I am bored with tribal house music now so I have concentrated on the soulful djs like Quentin Harris, Dennis Ferrer and Louie Vega. They are uplifting our ancestors.
